Kenneth Y. Hartigan-go

MD, MD (UK), FPCP, FICD

Dr. Kenneth Hartigan-Go earned his medical degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine in 1985 and Newcastle University UK in 1998 (Clinical Pharmacology). Concurrently, Dr. Hartigan-Go is a Non-Resident Research Fellow of the Ateneo Policy Center of the School of Government.

Dr. Hartigan-Go served as the President of the Philippine College of Physicians from 2017 to 2018. He has also obtained fellowships from multiple organizations such as the Institute of Corporate Directors, American College of Physicians, and Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh); Honorary Fellow from Academy of Medicine, Singapore, and Singapore College of Physicians.

His commitment to the field of medicine and passion for health service earned him various roles in government, academe, and other organizations. He served as Deputy Director Bureau of Food and Drugs from 1999 to 2001; Director-General of Food and Drugs Administration from October 2012 to October 2014; and Undersecretary of the Philippine Department of Health from 2015 to 2016.

Furthermore, Hartigan-Go taught at the UP College of Medicine from 1990 to 2006 and Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health until 2010. From January 2021 to June 2021, Dr. Hartigan-Go was an Adjunct Faculty at the Asian Institute of Management.

Dr. Hartigan-Go has also collaborated with various organizations to improve the citizens’ welfare. To name a few, he is a member of the WHO Global Advisory Committee on Vaccine Safety, WHO Advisory Committee on the Safety of Medicinal Products, Steering Committee of the NUS Initiative for Health in Asia (NIHA), National Council of Biosafety Philippines, Scientific Advisory Group for COVAX Facility No-fault Compensation program since April 2021, and Expert Panel member of the Center for Regulatory Excellence based in Singapore.

Since the mid-2000s, Dr. Kenneth Hartigan-Go has held various leadership roles. He served as President of the Corporate Network for Disaster Response (CNDR), Founding Executive Director of the Zuellig Foundation from 2001 to 2009, Founding member of the Laban Konsyumer, Inc. since 2016, advisory to the Chair of APEC’s Life Science Innovation Forum (LSIF) Executive Board. He also sits as Board Member of ARISE Ph (UNDRR), Cullion Foundation Inc., Generika, OML Center for Climate Change Adaptation, CARD MRI BotiCARD Inc, MedGrocer in 2020, and Equicom Savings Bank from 2011 to 2021.
